CASE STUDY
Skills used
The challenge
Abbott asked me to increase the user engagement levels and stickiness of their Diabetes monitoring App.
The product
Abbott's FreeStyle Libre 3, a wearable device, provides continuous real-time updates of your glucose levels directly to your phone every minute.
While it brings convenience to the lives of Type 2 Diabetics, the information it shares may not always be uplifting. Many in this group struggle with motivation and self-confidence.
Once armed with this data, individuals in this category need support, organization, and guidance to stay on track.
THE SOLUTION
Research
I studied a wealth of patient data and married my findings with careful analysis of appropriate App gamification and successful user encouragement.
Psycology
The emphasis was on achievable habit alterations for long-lasting advantages. A wide range of diverse user motivations and supports were investigated.
Testing
Sweden was chosen to launch and test the app to get genuine feedback on how well it works and how user-friendly it is for people with Type 2 Diabetes.
Encouraging ux and ui
Low barrier to use
Instead of overwhelming users with complex choices, we offer three straightforward options: eat something, stay hydrated, or get up and move. Just by following these simple instructions, they'll be making meaningful strides towards better health.
Detail when needed
As healthy habits take root, the app allows users to easily log details about their diet and healthier lifestyle. When they connect with a clinician, all the information is neatly stored and ready for evaluation.
